About Pilot Institute
Online courses for drone pilots and aspiring pilots, including Part 107 test prep and private pilot ground school.
Pilot Institute offers online courses for people learning to fly drones and airplanes. Its best-known courses prepare drone pilots for the FAA Part 107 knowledge test, which commercial drone operators in the US must pass, and it also runs ground school for private pilot and other certificates.
Courses are video-based with quizzes and practice tests, and the company also covers topics such as night operations, mapping, and starting a drone business. Learners study at their own pace on a computer or phone.
Online ground school prepares you for knowledge tests. It does not replace flight training with a certificated instructor for crewed flying, and passing a test is only the start of operating safely. Check that any course matches the current FAA test material and what kind of support it gives when you get stuck.
