Windy

Windy is an interactive weather map that shows forecasts from several weather models side by side. You can view wind, gusts, clouds, rain, temperature and many other layers, and change the altitude to see conditions above the surface, which is why pilots and drone crews often keep it open.

It is useful for spotting trends: when a front arrives, how wind changes through the day, or whether models agree. The web map and mobile apps share the same data, and a paid plan adds more frequent updates and extra features.

Windy is a forecast viewer, not an official briefing. For crewed flights, get a standard briefing through the official channels, and for drone work, check local conditions on site. Use Windy to plan and to understand the bigger picture, then confirm with official products before you fly.
